NPS dismantles drug trafficking network in Kuujjuaq

From January 6 to 13, investigators from the Nunavik Integrated Investigation Team conducted three drug searches in three different residences in Kuujjuaq. These operations resulted in the seizure of 243 grams of crack-cocaine, cell phones used for drug trafficking, money, and equipment for drug processing and sale. This NPS initiative lead to the arrest of 16 individuals for possession and trafficking of cocaine and crack-cocaine.
From these 16 suspects, eight were released with an appearance notice by the investigators. As for the other eight, they were arrested and brought before a judge: five of them were released with conditions, and three remain in custody.
The names of the 16 suspects remain confidential since the investigation is still ongoing.
